The family company Keune Haircosmetics was founded in 1922 by a pharmacist from Amsterdam named Jan Keune. In the past, hair was curled by heating an iron curling iron over a flame, which was not only unkind to the hair, but also dangerous. Fascinated by curls, Jan began experimenting in his first laboratory and eventually discovered the very first formula for permanent hair styling – a perm. Scientific research and subsequent innovation have always served as the foundation of Keune’s success. Every product we make is developed in our own Keune laboratory. The design of a breakthrough solution is the result of hard and conscientious work by our professional functional teams of experts who are driven by passion and expertise. With its commitment, Keune is able to design and develop new products that are tailored to Keune’s DNA and the expectations of consumers around the world.
